Chevrolet Repair: 99 Chevy Suburban door latch, visible groove, door latch

Question
The door post on my drivers side door has a flat spot worn on the top of it.  The internal portion of the door latch catch has a visible groove worn into it.  The door visibly drops when opening and I discovered the top hinge bolt was hand loose.  I tightened it and it does not drop anymore, but it still drags on the door post.  What can I do to keep it from dragging?

Answer
Hi Tom, The problem is that the hinge pin bushings are worn out. You need to replace these bushings to repair the door from draging on the striker post. To replace the bushings you remove the bolts from both hinges and lift the door off the truck. Now you can get to the bushings.
