Chevrolet Repair: electrical, chevy blazer, positive cable

Question
hi van, remember a few weeks ago i told you about my problem with my chevy blazer, how the motor would surge and the guages and lights would flicker, unless i put a 100 pound sand bag on my pasenger seat.  you said that the reason the sand bag was helping was that it would pin the cab to the frame and ground everything because one of my two major ground wires was defective, or gone.  well i jumped under the hood last night and noticed that both my grounds from the batery to the block and to the fire wall were fine, however, my positive cable going to the battery was rubbing on the manifold therefore burning the plastic off of it and causing it to ground. i relocated it, but i havn't had a chance to drive the blazer because the tranny is out of it.  do you think that did the trick, or do i still have a problem. thanks for the quick response last time, look foward to hearing from you again.

Answer
Hello Jordan,
It is very possible that you found the problem. That could cause the symptoms you had.
I never did think your bag of sand was funny. Sometimes things just work, and no telling exactly what the weight did. May have forced a ground, or may have made things shift enough that the cable didn't touch the manifold...hard to say.
Good luck on the tranny.
