Chevrolet Repair: Monte Carlo help, chevy monte carlo, pep boys

Hello,
I have a 2000 chevy monte carlo.I replaced her battery a few months ago with a sears diehard.Today the battery lite comes on/ beeps telling me theres a problem.It goes off after Ive traveled a few feet.How do I test to see if the alternator has gone bad?

The easiest way is to simply drive the vehicle into any larger autu parts store such as AUTOZONE, NAPA, PEP BOYS, CHECKERS, etc, etc and they will test your alternator for FREE.

Or you can remove the alternator and HAND CARRY it into any of the above facilities and they will test it for FREE.
