Chevrolet Repair: 99 Cavalier Stalls, getting into the habit, abs light

My 99 Cavalier is getting into the habit of stalling when brakes are slammed on. I can re-create this effect anytime by braking hard. So far it has always restarted with no trouble. Is this related to the fact that my ABS light is on and the brakes are locking up? Is this a serious problem (ie is it worth paying a few hundred to get fixed)? Also it has only happened so far when weather is cold and snowy, is it possible it will go away in better conditions?

Hello Amanda, I haven't seen or heard of this problem before. I'm thinking maybe it is the fuel pump assembly. Like maybe it is broken and moving when you hit the brakes, then returns to normal position. I guess the only way to find out is to remove it and inspect it.
