Chevrolet Repair: Starter in 1985 Chevy Suburban, chevy suburban, 12 volts

Question
What troubleshooting steps do I take after I install a starter?  The vehicle does nothing after I turn the switch

Answer
Hi Jamie, First you need to test for 12 volts at the large starter terminal. If this is good then test for 12 volts on the other small terminal WHILE the key is in crank position. If this good then you need to test for a good ground to the block and starter.

Hope this helps
