Chevrolet Repair: 1996 cavalier speedo inop, otc scanner, vehicl

1996 caavalier speedo and odometer inop . Vehicle speed does show on OTC scanner. I need to know what type of signal goes terminal 3 on IPC from PCM . There is continuity in green and white wire that goes to PCM,IPC,radio&chime module. Have tried several clusters and 1 PCM. Vehicl was wrecked and did have aftermarket radio. Now has a factory GM radio.Any other ideas? thanks

Hello Randy, Let me tell you first that without a book in front of you or me I can only tell you what I think on this. The cluster works on pulse from the pcm. I think it is 4000 pulses per minute but it could be 2000. I would run a wire to the cluster from the pcm to see if that will make it work. When someone has been in there installing a radio they might have messed up the wiring. Try the new wire to see what happens.
