Answer
I believe you are referring to the oil filter ADAPTER BASE GASKET that goes between the engine block and the oil filter adapter.

Be CAREFUL as there have been numerous occassions whereas someone put the oil filter on way to tight and the next time the oil needed to be changed, they could NOT get the filter off and had to resort to using an air chisel to get the filter off or by banging it with a hammer of which has caused many oil filter adapter plates to be cracked and or the engine block to be cracked and or damaged somewhere beneath the oil filter adapter.

I would STRONGLY suggest that you require that this leak be fixed and obtain some sort of a TIME WARRANTY for the repair and then after you purchase the vehicle, have a professional automotive technician take the unit apart to be sure a PROPER repair has been made. Otherwise you could have an oil leak FOREVER at this site.

You also mentioned an axle seal leak, Which seal ? is leaking ?. Again, You may have a cracked housing where the seal is leaking and replacing the seal will not fix the leak.

Be VERY VERY careful about considering this purchase.

Once you buy it, Your STUCK with these problems.
