Chevrolet Repair: Belts and chains, chevy camaro, power steering pump

Question
I have a 1996 Chevy Camaro and a 1994 Dodge Shadow.  What I would like to know is what is the difference between a timing belt, timing chain and serpentine belt?  Both of my cars are at 140,000 miles and both runs fine.

Answer
A timing belt and a timing chain are the exact same thing with the exception of one being a chain, made of metal and the other being a belt made of rubber.

A serpentine belt is also made of rubber and is what you can physically see that snakes it's way around the water pump, alternator, emissions pump, crankshaft, power steering pump, A/C compressor to ehich drives these components to turn and operate.
