Chevrolet Repair: How to replace a 1994 S10 Blazer alternator, 1994 s10 blazer, s10 blazer

Question
It looks fairly simple but I'm not sure.  I need to replace the alternator on a 1994 S10 Blazer.  Looks like two electrical connections and three bolts.  But I don't see any adjustment capability.  I'm used to seeing some method of tensioning the belt.  What I'd really like is a step by step set of instructions for doing this.  Also, how difficult is it and how long should it take?  Thanks.

Answer
Hello Gene, The first thing you need to do is disconnect the battery. Now remove the drive belt, use a wrench on the bolt that holds the pulley on the belt tensioner and release the pressure to remove the belt. Be sure to note the way the belt is routed. Now you can remove the bolts that retain the alternator and wiring. Should take you no more than 30 minutes to do this job.

Hope this helps
