Chevrolet Repair: heater/ac control, salvage yard, chevy suburban

Question
my heater/ac control panel in the front dash of my 92 Chevy suburban c1500 will not power on. i went to a salvage yard and tried another one and it wouldnt work either. the buttons light up when the headlights are on but the screen will not illuminate or power on. what could be my problem.

Answer
NEVER EVER purchase salvage yard electronic components.

You have NO CLUE as to IF they work or NOT and if they should happen to be faulty (shorted internally due to weather or prior to the reason the vehicle got to the junk yard, You can cause MAJOR other electronic component damage to the other components that are also attached to this junk yard component.

At this point, We don't know IF this junk yard part HAS caused and other component damage, But your ORIGINAL most likely problem is a fault within the heater-A/C compensator usually located under the dash behind the glove box.

If you have NO USE for the junk yard part, Of which you can usually NOT return, I do repair all of these types of electronic components and would be more than glad to take it off your hands.
