Chevrolet Repair: 1992 Suburban starting, motor brushes, heater fan

Question
My problem is my suburban's heater will not turn off when I turn the key off. The temerature indicator bar remains lit and I can operate all the functions of the heater/AC with the key turned off or removed. If unoticed it will drain the battery. Upon trying to restart when the key is turned to start the heater fan will come on at low speed.Even if I have turned the heater fan off.

Answer
This is a common problem of the BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL MODULE. Replace it. STRONGLY suggest that you replace the blower motor also as the motor tends to start wearing away the motor brushes causing excessive amperage draw on the CONTROL MODULE of which is in most cases WHY the control module fails.
