Chevrolet Repair: 1986 Stw Celebrity 2.8 l V6, spark plug wires, rocker arm

Well we changed the fuel pump the filter re-aranged the spark plug wires and the car will start but it back fires through the carb and when you try to accelerate the car would almost stall or sometimes it will. I am at my witts end.

Hi Geronimo, If this car did this before you did all this work then your camshaft might be gone in the engine. A bad lobe on the cam will cause this to happen.

If the wires are on correctly then the camshaft is the only other thing that it could be other then a broken rocker arm. You need to pull the valve covers off to check this.
