Chevrolet Repair: brakes, speed sensors, silverado 4x4

Question
2001 chevrolet ck 1500 silverado 4x4 pickup, 5.3 auto 51,000 miles,  at low speeds -5 mph brakes make wierd noise, brake pedal pulses very rapidly and truck won't stop. new rotors & pads at 40,000 miles, this did not start being a problem until about a week ago. thank you.

Answer
Hello Robert, This is caused from the rust build up under the front wheel speed sensors. This makes the air gap from the sensor to the reluctor ring too large. It only takes a few thousands of a inch to make this happen. To repair this you all you need to do is remove both the front speed sensors and file the mounting surface where the sensor mounts. Be sure to grease the area so this doesn't happen again.
