Chevrolet Repair: knocking/ticking in 2000 Z71 5.3, cold mornings, mobil 1

Question
i own a 2000 Z71 with the 5.3 liter engine,69,000 miles. after approx.35,000 miles the engine started getting noisier at start-up. i understand some noise is normal,this isn't. it is worse on cold mornings. sounds like lifters not pumping up, although oil pressure is around 60-70 psi. i have been using mobil-1 5-30 synthetic oil for approx.30,000 miles.    any ideas?

Hi James, I know some noise is normal is correct. If the noise goes away in 2 minutes or less then I wouldn't worry about it. You could have a bad lifter too, I would need to hear the noise to give a opinion on that. Noises are the hardest to give answers on, without hearing them.
