Chevrolet Repair: 97 Chevy Suburban - Hard Starting When Engine Is Warm, chevy suburban, battery cable

Question
I have a 1500 97 Chevy Suburban with a 5.7 liter.  The problem I am noticing is that the truck will start fairly easy when the engine is cold but struggles when the engine has warmed up to operating temps.  It will start but will barely turn over when I try to start it, the engine does fire pretty quickly when it finally turns over probably in the first couple of turns.  When the engine is cold the problem is significantly less but still is slightly noticeable.  Please let me know what I can do, my father-in-law mentioned changing the spark plugs as a first measure towards this, but also would like to know if anything else can be done.

Thanks
Blake

Answer
Hi Blake, I know I answered your question but as I look back in the list I don't see the answer.

The first thing you need to do is have the battery tested or just replace it if it is older than 4 years. The only other thing here is a bad starter or corroded battery cable connections. It is not the spark plugs.

Hope this one goes through
