Chevrolet Repair: Interior lights stay on, chevy corsica, 1994 chevy corsica

Question
Hi Mark,

I have a 1994 Chevy Corsica, 3 liter engine, auto, air, 152,000 miles. Recently my interior lights won't go out after I shut off the car and close the doors. I tried giving the doors an extra push to get them to shut off, but no good. The only way to get them to go off was to pull the fuse when I'm not using the car. Any suggestions for me to try before taking it to a repair shop would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi Rick, There are switches on the door latch that control the dome lights. The problem is the latch itself. you'll need to get a new one and install it to repair this problem. I would disconnect the drivers electrical connection to the latch to make sure that is your problem.

Have a Nice day    Mark
