Chevrolet Repair: Knock Sensor, knock sensor, bell housing

Question
I have a 1988 Chevy p-u. 305 motor.  I had the truck towed in and the mechanic and parts store both seemed to think it is the knock sensor. Can you tell me which side of the motor it is on?  

Answer
I have only EVER seen maybe a handful of faulty KNOCK SENSORS in over 25 years. This sensor will NOT prevent the vehicle from starting.

Off hand, I do NOT know where it is located, But I believe it is on top of the bell housing between the engine and the transmission below the distributor.
