Chevrolet Repair: start ups, chevy silverado 4x4, fuel tank cap

Question
I'm suspecting someone poured something into my fuel tank. There was a residue on the side of my truck and on the ground directly under my fuel tank cap. Drove the vehicle 50 miles and then it wouldn't start. Told a mechanic what was going on. He said coincidentally the timing chain broke. Installed a new one. Drove about 20 miles. Next morning truck won't start. Mechanic installed new plug wires. Drove about 60 miles. Truck won't start. Mechanic installed new plugs, rotor and distributor cap. Drove about 60 miles Truck won't start. It seems like it doesn't want to start in the mornings or when it is cold. After the mechanic has worked on it each time it has been warm outside. I have never had any problems with it starting before I was vandalized. 4 flat tires and I think something in the fuel tank.Chevy Silverado 4x4 ext. cab, 350 V-tek engine, 130,000 miles. What do you reccomend?

Answer
STRONGLY recommend that you STOP driving the vehicle. Whoever this mechanic is should have told you this as you are causing more and more damage the more you drive it.

Most likely whatever was put in the fuel tank JELLS when the temp gets COLD causing your starting problems.

1. drop the fuel tank.

2.remove all the injectors and have them cleaned or buy new ones.

3. remove the fuel filter.

4. Flush the fuel tank with a cleaning agent.

5. Remove the fuel pressure regualtor as it is NOT flushable and buy a new one.

6. Buy a new fuel pump.

7. Flush the entire fuel system with a cleaning agent. several times.

8. change the oil and filter and twice more at 100 miles.

9. Install all the new parts.

Hopefully there is NO engine damage.
