Chevrolet Repair: turning problem, alignment shop, proper alignment

Question
I bought an 86 Chevy Silverado awhile ago and noticed a couple of slight problems. It will turn right very sharp but when I turn left,it won't turn very far.It also has an Edelbrock carb but I thought you needed an adapter to mount it to a GM intake. Thanks,Adamn

Answer
Hello Adam,
On the turning, you might check the stops on the steering knuckle, and see if that is what is limiting the turning, or if it is the steering gear running out of travel.
If it is the gear travel, you might be able to adjust the tierod ends to shift it.
Actually a trip to an alignment shop might be worth the cost, so you end up with proper alignment.
Another possibility is the rear axle housing shifted on the springs, although that would make it run slightly sideways, which you should have notices.
The front axle shifting like that would do it also if you have leaf springs.

The Carb question I can't help with.
