Chevrolet Repair: 86 Chevy Silverado, channel lock pliers, chevy silverado

Question
Could you please give me step by step directions for changing the brake pads for front disk brakes?

Answer
Hello Jeremy, Well this one should be easy....after you get the wheels off remove the 2 caliper bolts. These are 3/8 allen head bolts. Now with a pry bar or large screwdriver pry the caliper up off the mount. Now remove the pads from the caliper. Now with a "C" clamp or large set of channel lock pliers squeeze the piston back into the caliper. Now remove the little sleeves where the caliper bolts go through the caliper and clean and lube them with brake silcone grease. Install the new pads and the caliper back onto the mount.

Hope this helps you out
