Chevrolet Repair: 1995 suburban c1500 hesitation under load, electric fuel pump, christmas trip

Question
My 1995 c 1500 350 tbi 120K, christmas trip. On Saturday I filled the truck with gas from VERY empty to prepare for trip to Family Christmas in Birmingham. After @ 100 miles we pull into drive thru for lunch, idle for @8-10 min and pull back onto interstate, try to accelerate and stumble, cough, fall on face, seems like starving for gas.
I reverse back up ramp and I replace fuel filter in gas station lot, my thoughts low gas level =
pick up trash= fuel starve under load=new filter.
Continue to Birmingham @ 150 miles drive around for two days, no problem. Trip home 150 miles out
stop at drive thru {five kids < ten years old}idle for 8-10 min and same problem getting back on interstate, pull over, idles fine, accelerate w/very light throttle bak onto interstate and take it home @ 100 miles, seems fine, traffic near home short idle time 3-8 min and-Stumble hesitate, gag! Ease it home and exhale! Can you help? Fuel pump, injectors, ECM?  No check engine light.TIA -Matt

Answer
Stay away from drive-ins and stay off the interstate and you should have NO problems.

Seriously, From your description, My first suspect would be the electric fuel pump in the tank. These pumps are famous for going sour around 60,000 miles.

Also check for debris within the fuel tank and flush it out. Don't forget to install a new fuel pump filetr that should come with the pump but not always.

Check for BURN marks at the wiring connections at the pump when your taking it loose.

Let me know.
