Chevrolet Repair: 1995 suburban c1500 hesitation under load, fuel pressure gauge, fuel level

Question
Mark,
I have a 1995 suburban 350 tbi 120k. On trip this weekend to grandmas- Truck was very Empty when i filled w/gas for trip and then when we went to drive thru after @ 100 mi @ 70-75mph
idled for 10 min and then back onto interstate and- stumbled misfired on hesitation like starving for gas, pull to side idles fine will move slowly but attempt to accelerate and stumble cough sputter. Back up on ramp and I change fuel filter @ gas station. I thought low fuel level = p/up trash= stumble under load.
Continue trip with no problem for two days. Coming back yesterday-stop for drive thru {five Kids under ten} idle for @ 10 min then getting back on interstate and same problem! Pullover idles fine.I slowly accelerated up to speed with very light throttle and drove it all the way home @ 150 more miles, traffic near home= idle in traffic=stumble. Is my fuel pump dying? I thought these pumps were go or no go? Injectors?
ECM? Help! TIA. Matt

Answer
Hello Matt, I guess the first thing I would do put a fuel pressure gauge on it. Without looking in the manual I'm not 100% sure but I think 55lbs is at least what you need. I find it hard to believe that you made it home if the pump was bad but strange things happen. The ecm just doesn't go bad on these and injectors would skip more at idle. I have seen some dist caps do weird things on these trucks, maybe you should replace t he cap and rotor.

Let me know what happens

Have a Nice Day     Mark
