87 chev truck will not start, it has fuel to throttle body but no spray through injectors. it will run by pouring gas through throttle body. have installed a new ecm, still no luck need help.  thanks

Answer
Hello Tim,
That has narrowed it down considerably.
The fuel pump is inside the fuel tank.
It should run for three seconds when the key is turned to run. You may need to get back by the tank and listen while someone else turns on the key.
If it isn't running, check the fuse. It should be on the firewall, under the hood, on the passengers side. There is a plastic cover that covers the relay, junction block, and the fuse, which may be in a little plastic cover attached to the firewall. The cover stays on the firewall, but the fuse holder unclips and pulls out of it, with the fuse. With a test light, see if the fuse gets power for three seconds. if it does, and the pump doesn't run, check the wires at the fuel tank, but it will probably need a pump.
Sometimes you can lay under the truck, and just as someone turns the key to run, smack the bottom middle of the tank. You might jar the pump into activity.
