where is the fuel pump located on this pickup and
could there be more then one cause for it to start and then sudenly die like you had turned it off.

Hello Betty,
The fuel pump for that truck is inside the fuel tank if it is a gasoline engine.
If it is a diesel, the pump is bolted to the frame under the drivers seat.
There are literally dozens of things that might cause it to just die. Fuel is only one of them.
If it is gas, you can hear the pump running in the tank for three seconds after the key is turned to run.
