MY TRUCK HAS A 5.7 ENGINE,WHEN YOU GO TO PULL OFF
FROM A DEAD STAND STILL IT SOUNDS LIKE THE ENINE HAS A SKIP TO IT.AND WHEN YOU LEVEL OFF AT NORMAL 35 TO 55 MPH IT SOUNDS LIKE IT HAS A BAD SKIP.BUT IF YOU ACCELERATE FIRMLY ITS NOT AS  BAD AND WHEN YOU RUN IT UP TO AROUND 60 TO 65 OR HIGHER IT SEEMS TO SMOOTH OUT.ITS THROTTLE BODY.I HAVE REPLCED PLUGS AND WIRES,THE DIRECTION IM THINKING NOW IS A PROBLEM WITH THE THROTTLE BODY OR POSSIBLY THE CAM THE TRUCK HAS ABOUT 130,000 MILES ON IT.ONE THING I NOTICED WAS THAT ONE OF THE PORTS IN THE THROTTLE BODY WAS BLACK AND THE OTHER SIDE WAS CLEAN,SO I RAN SOME INJECTOR CLEANER AND THE PORT CLEARED UP BUT THE SKIP IS STILL THERE.THANKS FOR YOUR TIME I HOPE I GAVE YOU ENOUGH DETAILS.

How many fuel injectors does the engine have 2 or 8 ?. Pull the spark plugs and make sure they are all burning the same as being that they all look the same color at the electrode ends. If ANY are coated BLACK this would indicate a leaking fuel injector.

Did this come on suddenly or has it been getting worse over time ?.

Answer
You stated: "1 PLUG IS A LITTLE BLACK SUTTY ".

This would be an indication that you either have a faulty plug wire or a faulty spark plug or a fault within the distributor cap of where the plug wire attaches.

NEVER EVER assume just because ANY component that you replace is 100% operational.

I would put an OHM metr on each end of the plug wire and twist and turn the wire to see if the meter looses it's continuity.

I would also use a magnifying glass and look very closely at the spark plug as there may be a hairline crack in the glass portion of the spark plug that can happen upon installation or possibly the plug was dropped before you purchased it and it got cracked.

Since you ONLY had ONE sooty spark plug this would most likely rule OUT any leaking fuel injector. but you can turn ON the ignition switch, Do NOT start the engine and jsut watch the injectors to see if any show signs of leaking. you can also put a piece of tissue paper against the bottom of the injectors to see if there is any gas present. Wipe them BOTH OFF prior to the tissue test.

There is also a product called TOP ENGINE CLEANER that comes in a can and is very effective in removing caron deposits from on top of the pistons.

Purchase a can of this cleaner and do the following:

1. start the engine to normal operating temp.
2. let the vehicle at idle speed and pour in enough cleaner to stall the engine.

3. Wait until the following day and start the engine and it will be hard to start.

4. when the engine is running OK and is back to normal idle speed, Increase the engine speed to about 1500 rpm's and SLOWLY pour in the remaining cleaner. Do NOT stall the engine.

5. Keep the engine running until it gets back to normal idle speed and see if this resolves your problem and or improves it and let me know.
