Chevrolet Repair: pressure in valve covers, combustion gases, crank case

Question
I HAVE A 305 THAT HAS A LOT OF PRESSURE IN VALVE COVERS. PCV IS GOOD BUT WE HAVE OIL BLOW BY. MOTOR WAS RECENTLY OVERHAULED LESS THAN 3000 MILES. ANY THOUGHTS ON WHAT TO CHECK.

                       THANKS,MARVIN

Answer
Hello Marvin, If you have a lot of preesure in the engine it can only come from one place. Bad piston rings or bore. The PCV valve is made to keep a little vacuum in the crank case to remove combustion gases. There isn't much to say about this one other than the rings are bad.
