Question
Hi Barry,

I am confused if your name is Van or Barry...I do apologize...my mistake.  Anyway I am resending the message...Thanks!

Hi Van,

I took my car for a free safety inspection today at a local garage.  They told me that my left (passenger side) front wheel overhead tie rod was loose and that I needed a new one with appropriate alignment.

They also told me that I needed a new fuel filter; however LESS than thirty days ago I had my brother put one in!

Anyway, how concerned should I be with the tie rod thing?

Thanks so much!

Cheri

Answer
Cheri, Fuel filters usually go for a year or 2,10 to 20 thousand miles, depending on quality/cleanliness of fuel. I'd get a second opinon on the tie rod/front end condition. A tight frontb end with proper alignment and...tire inflation is critical for tire wear and gas mileage. Good Luck, Barry
