Chevrolet Repair: 1993 S10 2.8L, rotor position, fuel vapors

Question
I somehow blew-out my rotor and dist cap, along with some wires on the actual Dist.  I replaced the distributor, rotor, and cap - but can't seem to get the truck started.  I assume it is a timing issue, but I've gone through everything I can think of.  I'm still playing, but I was wondering if you had any suggestions.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Jim,
Blew out??
Now if it exploded, I would suspect fuel vapors, but I don't think you have a vacuum advance on that.
But anyway, you may need to remove the distributor to see if the shaft twisted, unless you can guess and compare rotor position to proper cylinder firing point.
Those blown wires may have shorted and blown a fuse....or something.
