Chevrolet Repair: truck problems, engine cranks, jumper wire

Question
I have a 95' Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 diesel truck. I was driving down the road and it died. Now I can't get it to start. The dash panel lights don't turn on when I turn on the key switch. The glow plugs won't turn on. the engine still cranks but doesn't start. I've checked all the fuses and relays under the hood they are all still good. I have checked out so far the only thing i can find is the injector pump is not getting juice. And I don't know where the juice comes from.  The batteries are about 8 months old, and the injector pump was rebuilt 2 months ago. So far thats the only work thats been done to the truck. If you could help I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Answer
Hello Victor,
If the engine cranks over, then the batteries are not the problem.
There is an electric fuel pump bolted to the frame under the driver. See if it runs when the key is turned to run. I will bet not, but eventually, you want it to run also.
i think there is a good chance you have a blown fusible link, or a bad ignition switch.
You could try a jumper wire from batt + to injector pump pink wire. it may even feed back and run the electric fuel pump.
But look for the fusible links. Some are connected to the starter batt connection. Some on the firewall.
Actually, with the key cranking the engine, but dash not working, I would tend to lean toward the ignition switch. It is not under the steering wheel...it is on the steering column down by the brake pedal, and operated by a rod. It is somewhat adjustable, also.
