Chevrolet Repair: 2001 Silverado multi-purpose-switch installation, windshield wipers, yellow wires

Question
I recently purchased a replacement multi-purpose-switch which controls turn signals, cruise contral, hi-lo beams, windshield wipers and washers (in addition to folding your socks) for my wife's 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. How complicated is the replacement of such a switch? I'm told the airbag has to be removed and even the steering wheel has to be pulled. If this is the case, I'm in over my head.

Any advice is appreciated.

Bill

Answer
Hello William,
I appologize for not answering the question sooner.
I was out of town, and signed out on vacation, but the All Experts system let me down, and didn't get my vacation posted.
Let me send a link.
Is that not under WARRANTY?
Find a manual, at the public library refference section for one place, and get the proceedure to dissable the air bag. I think it is a pair of yellow wires, but check for sure.
