Chevrolet Repair: 1994 Suburban Starter, knock sensor, support bracket

Question
I've disconnected the starter's two bolts but it's still connected to some sort of bracket that keeps me from pulling it away from the block.  Can you tell me how to disconnect it from the truck?

I replaced the starter on a 1978 model which was connected by the two bolts only. They must have added something since then.

Answer
Hi Dave,
On the front end of the starter, there is a support bracket on one of the starter through bolts, and it is bolted to the block. 1/2 inch swivel socket on an extension should reach it.
You may also want to disconnect the knock sensor wire from the sensor screwed into the block right in front of the starter.
When installing the starter, you may have a heat shield that is held in place with the same bolt, and must be ligned up.
