Chevrolet Repair: Stalling in traffic, 1990 cavalier z24, vacuum leaks

Question
1990 Cavalier Z24 3.1L auto 195k miles

The car has recently started occasionally stalling in traffic when in "drive" when stopped. RPM drops below 500 and stall occurs.  If I put it in neutral the rev's are still low but does not stall.  Recently replaced plugs, wires, PCV & fuel filter.

Noticed that while the transmission fluid reads OK, many bubbles on dip stick.  Could the fluid actually be low and the air/bubbles causes it to read OK?  Should I add and if so how much?  Any other ideas?

Thanks.

Answer
I would check the fluid several times, and try to get a good reading.
It may be too high, or sucking air at the filter.
But the stalling could be the idle air control valve needing cleaning, or a vacuum leak. Check the brake booster also when looking for vacuum leaks.
