Chevrolet Repair: Waterpump, o reillys, lifetime warranty

Question
Ay Van... thanks for being there...I have a 94 Chev 4.3 Tahoe w/air  auto trans 4X4 ...Is it a Big involved job to R&R the water pump? ie time and labor? and what is a approx price for a new Pump? again thanks for your time...C.E Hargraves

Answer
Hi Gene,
No major problem at all.
I would probably remove the radiator, just to have it out of harms way, and get it checked and cleaned at the same time. With the shroud gone, you can see the pump easily.
Just removing steering pump, alternator and brackets is a pain, but you can do it.
I assume you are talking full grown truck, not S10 Tahoe?
At "O"Reillys, a pump is $29.99 exchange, and that's with a lifetime warranty.
You need to know if it has a threaded hole on the top of the pump, but they have them both ways. Just if you need the hole, like for a heater hose, they need to know.
Good luck,
Van
