Chevrolet Repair: breaking Flexplates, skinned knuckles, engine flywheel

Question
We have a 96 4WD Blazer that had the tranmission rebuilt at about 60K miles

About 6 months later, the flexplate broke and my son and I replaced it with a brand new one.

About 8 months after that, the flexplate broke again. we took it to the Transmission shop and they replaced the flexplate and stated that they found nothing that would cause it to break.

Well, it's been about 7 monts and guess what, it's broken again.

The car is NOT hot rodded or abused in anyway. It get driven about 15000 miles a year and is serviced regularly.

Any idea what's causing the flexplate to continually break?

Thanks in advance!
Cecil

Answer
how many have ya gone through? after the first one i would lost it.  could be a faulty flex palte but i doubt it, did ya install it right? and are you using the proper plate for the size engine you got? could be the tourqe is breakin it. hmmm the engine flywheel and then the plate and tehn the transmission input shaft. i would say on what info you gave me, you need a higher grade plate one meant for high tourge. it may cost more but i think that the engine and the tranns. need to be equaled by the plate. ie get a palted that can withstand the highest amount possible that your engine puts out. and make sure to bolt it on right..

pardon my spelling, i gots skinned knuckles from workin on a vehicle.

keep me posted.
