Chevrolet Repair: 97 Chevy Astro, chevy astro, safe assumption

Question
Hello,

I have been having problems with a serious miss in my V6.  According to the readout from the Check Engine light, it is coming from #4. I changed out the sparkplug and wire, but it is still there.  I know suspect it is the fuel injector.  Is that a safe assumption?  How dificult is it to change one.  I am very familiar with older cars that are carberated, but I have not replaced a fuel injector.  What does it take to do that?  Please respond as soon as you can.  THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Answer
Hi Steve,
Getting all that stuff out of the way is the biggest hassle.
The injectors are easy to change, and you can do it.
When you get them out, you can have them cleaned and tested, or you can just replace them. You could also switch positions, and see if the miss stays with the same cylinder with a different injector, or if it travels with the injector.
A broken valve spring to that cylinder is a possibility, as well as carbon deposits, etc.
