Chevrolet Repair: chevy wont start, chevy c, new spark


Question
i have a 86 chevy c/10 stepside and i cant get it to start
it whirls over just fine ive checked the timing chain not broke, nor jumped time still lined up i hade the modulator tested and the coil i ve got new wires, new spark plugs, new cap and rotor. it gets fire and it gets gas (even tried starting fluid) it gets compression. im out of ideas. Can you please help?

Hi Ray, Well all you need is 3 things to run, spark,fuel and compression. If you don't have spark, check for 12 volts at the dist with the key on. If that is good then test the pick up coil in the dist. Should have 800 to 1200 ohms. If that is good then replace the module and coil. It might be better to go out and get a reman dist from the auto parts store, this way you know everything is good.
