Chevrolet Repair: Transmission Leak, th350 transmission, transmission leak

Hi Mark, I have transmission oil leaking out the speedometer housing on my th350 transmission, could you tell me how i can take this apart and fix it.  Thanks Rich  ps. it is a 70's transmission

Hi Rich, I used to replace the the speedometer adaptor and gear on these to correct the leak. The old adaptors were made from a light weight metal and wore out.
     To remove the old one just remove the bolt next to the adaptor and pull straight out. They make many size gears that go into the adaptor so take your old one with you to get a new one.
