Chevrolet Repair: Blazer quitting and Tahoe, 4x4 blazer, injector service

Question
2 questions actually:

1) I have a 97 4x4 Blazer that occasionaly quits immediately after starting and more rarely at an idle.  I had the alternator replaced about 4 months ago. Once when it did not start I checked the battery connection and the positive was very loose so I tightened it and while it would start it still displays the quitting problem.  Last year I also replaced the battery- the post was completely corroded away.

2) My 97 Tahoe surges and hesitates during low speed acceleration.  I park it outside on a hill and it seems to be worse after a rain.  It only  occurs in the morning- I park in a garage at work at it always runs flawlessly in the afternoon.  A few months ago I had an expensive injector service performed on it at a Goodwrench shop but it didn't help.  Also the engine seems to be squeeking.

Thanks very much for any help you can offer.

Answer
Hello Jason,
Answer 1) I'm thinking maybe a fuel leakdown situation. While sitting overnight, it bleeds back to the tank, and when you start it, an air bubble hits the injectors. Then during subsequent cranking it is pushed out of the way.
To verify this, try turning the key to run, but don't crank the engine. Let it stay on for three seconds, turn it off, then on again. Maybe a couple times. Then crank it and see if it dies.
If not, then you have forced the pump to push the fuel up where it needs to be.
If that doesn't keep it running, you need to find out if the spark is present, or it looses it.

2) When you park on the hill, I am curious weather it is facing uphill, or downhill. Just wondering if it might make a difference.
I don't know what your weather is, but condensation comes to mind.
But I don't know of any outright cause.
If you could switch direction parking, just to see...
Good luck,
Van
