Chevrolet Repair: CHEVY EXPRESS VAN IDLER ARM ASSEMBLY, chevy owner, chevy express

Question
...First thing i feel compelled to do is, ''warn everyone about the 'chevy van.'''  i purchased a BRAND NEW (ordered it) 1/2 ton chevy express van in 1997 and took delivery in April of that year.  chevy has done all the maintanence and no one but chevy has ever touched this monster.  i'm 58, retired PROFESSIONAL DRIVER, and when i say, ''it has a bounce in the frontend and it stires like a 'worn-out dodge'' i know what i'm talking about.  this thing has been in the shop (chevy) starting the first week i had it.  'they' can't find anything wrong with it.  'they' have paid for 3 allingments...i've paid for two...i have had 3 yes 3 sets of wheels and tires on this BESIDES THE ORIGINALS so it's not the tires or wheels.  it's never been on gravel roads, it's garage kept, i even put an HOUR METER ON IT (at chevy) and it has 1738 HOURS, 55018 miles AND THE FRONT END IS COMPLETELY WORN OUT...AND DANGEROUS...ACCORDING TO CHEVY MECHANICS.  CHEVY WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.  TIME WAS NOT ON MY SIDE.  OH, YEAH, I PURCHASED A SEVEN-YEAR-72000 MILE EXTENDED WARRENTY.  HOPE CHEVY GOES BROKE... .

NOW, FOR MY QUESTION...
ON THE FRONT END, THERE ARE TWO IDLER ARMS AND TWO BRACKETS.  DO I HAVE TO REPLACE THE BRACKETS WHEN I REPLACE THE IDLERS?

I APPRECIATE YOU LETTING ME VENT MY DISGUST WITH chevy.
THANKS,
SAM...RETIRED TRUCKDRIVER, P.O.'d CHEVY OWNER...

Answer
Hi Sam,
Sorry this is so late...I was out of town taking care of some parent plans.
I haven't worked on an Express van, and am unfamiliar with two idler arms.
But all the pickup idler arms I have replaced bolt directly to the frame. The K3500 trucks idler arm, by the way, I have replaced many. It is a poor design, and I switch to a Moog heavy duty one first time.
Good luck on yours.
