Chevrolet Repair: pulley alligmnent for a chevy c 10 1979 292 motor, crankshaft pulley, fan pulley

we own a 1979 chevy with a 292 motor.  The belts keep coming off.  The person we bought it fom rigged the pulleys.  What is the correct position for them.  Ours are not lining up.  Is there a picture somewhere we can look at?  Sincerly Laurie

I don't know of a picture, but the crankshaft pulley is what the others pretty much need to be lined up with.
If it is all the way tight on the crankshaft, then line the rest up visually.
The alternator could have a spacer in the wrong place, as well as the fan pulley.
If the waterpump has been rebuilt, it may have been pressed together wrong.
You might go to a salvage yard, and they would probably let you look through the yard and find one like it to compare.
