Chevrolet Repair: Electrical, battery cables, gmc jimmy

Question
I have a 71 GMC Jimmy 4x4 with an electrical issue. It has a brand new battery, so not the issue.

If I go and run it, park it, try to start next day, battery is dead and has to be jumpstarted. Same scenario, BUT, I disconnect battery cables when I park it, it starts next day when I reattach cables.

So, something is draining it, but there is nothing 'running'...not even a clock as it doesnt have one..

Answer
Hi Dave,
I used to have a real good link, but have changed computers, so searched Google and found this link. It looks quite similar to the one I had, and has some other info also.
You might want to leave the battery connected tonight, but disconnect the alternator, to see if a diode in it might be the culprit.

Here is the link for "How to locate a battery drain"

Good luck,
