QuestionQUESTION: 92 Le Baron Convertable I have no power to the fuel pump,ignition, injectors, my manual says the relay is on the driver side fender near the battery. It's not or in the box with the other relays. Where is it located?
ANSWER: Hi Dennis,
The ASD relay is in the power box, the one immediately next to the outside-most fender-side relay (which is the starter relay). It is dependent of the mini-fuse 40-41 (20 amp) so check out that too. You aught to hear/touch the relay when a helper turns the key to "run", but it only closes for a second or so until you then try the starter motor when is should click again. If it doesn't click again then there is a problem with the signals coming from the cam or crank sensors. If that is the case let me know which engine you have.

QUESTION: It is not in the power box starting from the fender the relays are in this order- starter , fuel pump, inj.ign.coil, blank space, w/washer, air cond. clutch, radiator fan. All the mini fuses in the power box are good. I have swapped out 16 relays with a good one. I have 3 liter V-6.
AnswerI show the relay order to be:
starter
asd relay
fuel pump relay
empty
windshield wiper
ac clutch
radiator fan
The injectors, ignition coil, and alternator coils are also powered out of the asd relay.
The fuel pump is controlled by a different circuit than the asd.
This is how it is shown in the '92 Chrysler service manual/wiring diagrams. but in any case, what is going on with the ASD and fuel pump relays when you turn the key to run, and then when you turn the key to start? That is the issue. Both the asd and fuel pump relays should click closed briefly when you turn the key to run, and then close again while you are cranking it over and when it then catches and runs. But it no catch and run, they open.

You didn't say which manual was "my manual" but I doubt it is applicable to your '92 LeBaron.
It is a fact that current for the fuel injectors/ignition coil/alternator coils all are provided by a relay which Chrysler manual for the '92 LeBaron calls the AUTOSHUTDOWN RELAY. The relays were mounted on the 'driver's side fender' in the late '80's models but with the advent of the power distribution center all those relays were put in that center. So whether you appreciate it or not, that relay location I described to you is the ASD you are looking for.
