Question
ROLAND checked wiring an fuses an power going all in right places my ? is if the esp/bas is messed up does it over ride tcm an keep it in lower gear so it show slip protection is still engaged.

Answer
Previous history of the problem:
My last response was to try and find out why you have a "no communication" message from the tcm to code reader socket.

"The wires to the transmission control module that you need to verify are:
The pink/black from fuse 57 to pin 29 of the black 18-way plugof the tcm, and that the wire shows 12V to be present when the key is in the 'run' position.
The black/orange from pin 30 of that same plug is grounded.
There are a twisted pair of wires (white/light green, white/light blue) on the 14-way black plug of the tcm at pin H1 and L2 and those have to be connected to pins 34 and 35 of the black 38-pin plug at the powertrain control module, and also to pina 8 and 9 of the black 24-pin plug of the front control module. Those twisted wires are carrying the information from the tcm to the pcm so and from there to the snap-on and so they need to be properly connected if it is to communicate with the tcm.
Thanks for the rating and nomination.

Hi Edward,
As far as I know about the anti-lock brake system, it is in no way related to the functioning of the TCM. So I would not focus on those ABS system lights until the transmission is fixed. You basically have a transmission which is in "limp-in" mode which means that the transmission relay has not been given the signal to close, which then means that the trans will only run in 2nd gear. You could try jumping a wire across the transmission relay's socket (pin 30 to pin 87A) to temporarily get it out of limp-in mode, and see how the transmission is functioning, but I would not leave it that way or go very far as the limp-in mode is designed to prevent the transmission being damaged further until you can figure out what the tcm has observed to cause it to not allow the relay to close. But to do find out why you do need to get a communication from the tcm as to what it sees as being the problem at which point it will tell you a fault code number.
