Chrysler Repair: Cruise Control On 2002 Chrysler Concorde LXI

I have a 2002 Chrysler Concorde LXI 3.5 ltr engine.  I can't get the cruise control to work and I have already replaced the servo.  Any ideas?

Hi Bill,
The power for the cruise control is fuse 1 in the fuse box at the left end of the dash so verify that is not blown.
The most likely cause for a non-function is the clockspring which is a flexible connection between the steering wheel and the steering column. Should one of the two flexible wires that connects the cruise system to the powertrain control module be 'open' then the system will not initiate.
The easiest way to verify that would be to go to the powertrain control module which is near the servo and has four plugs. The white plug at pin 34 has a red/light green wire attached to it which services the clockspring for the cruise.  You would unplug the white plug and connect one lead of a continuity checker or ohmmeter to that pin, and then unplug the gray plug of the pcm and attach the other lead to pin 27 which has a black/light blue wire. Then measure either the continuity or resistance when you activate the on/off switch for the cruise function. If the clockspring is good you should see some sort of a reading when you do so, as compared to infinite ohm or no continuity when the switch is "off".
If it appears that the spring is "open" then you have to remove the steering wheel to replace it.
