Chrysler Repair: auto shut down relay: 2.7L

Question
QUESTION: 2004 sebring convertable 2.7 automatic
cannot get any spark at plugs.changed oil pump, had front of motor apart including cam position sensor.fuses appear to be good.engine spins freely, good compression.every thing appears to be pluged in correcty. checked voltage at tan wire connection at the two wire conection when cranking engine and get no reading.

ANSWER: The ASD relay is the second from the left in the rear row of the box. Try switching it with either of the fan relays which are the third and fourth in that same row.
What 'two wire connection' are you speaking of {plugged in to what?), and is the wire solid tan or does it also have stripe?
Do you have power on fuse 24 when cranking it over?

QUESTION: i switched the asd relay still no start.i have power at fuse 24 when cranking. i checked the (tan wire red stripe ) connector at the c.o.p. and didnot have power when cranking.as i said before engine was down for oil pump change cam position senser and other connectors were on hooked.

ANSWER: Hi John,
The tan/various wires at the 6 coil on plugs are the spark 'drivers' meaning that they should show 12v because the other side of coils are supposed to have 12v all of the time. But every time the plug is to be fired the tan wire is momentarily grounded. The solid 12v from the fuse 24 is found on the dark green/light green wire, and because you don't see the 12v on tan/etc.'s that means you don't have 12v on dark green/light green. Because you do have power on the 24 fuse when cranking and that 12v should then be showing on dark green/light green wires (at the cops and injectors by the way), the first thing to look at is a 14-pin black disconnect near the vehicle speed control and jumper to ground wire of the transmission located on the driver side of the engine compartment nearer the firewall. The wire is on pin 13 and 12v should be found on the side of the disconnect coming from the fire wall.
Maybe it was simply disconnected when you did the job and forgot to reconnect it?
Please rate this answer also and re-consider saying 'yes' for a nomination.
Thanks,

QUESTION: i removed the air cleaner box and i see two large conectors.one is white and the other is black they both look o-k .donot see jumper to ground to trans.both rocker arm covers have what looks like a green wire to cover post to ground. with the key on should there be any voltage at green or tan c.o.p. connector? i tryed to check for voltage at pin 13 didnot get any reading (key was on),could i un plug it to make easier? i took out the cam position sencer, thought it might be cracked or something.did not put back in yet.getting desperate ready to tear off manifold and see if any thing amiss.car ran fine before oil pump change

Answer
Hi John,
If pin 13 of that black connector is dark green/light green then that is the wire that is connected to fuse 24 which powers the c.o.p.'s and the injectors. It would show 12v when the ASD relay is closed, i.e. when cranking the engine over, but not when the key is simply in the run position as the ASD relay only closes momentarily and then closes again when you start cranking. Probe the wire on either side of the connector with a straight pin to check with a meter or glow light for voltage. That cam sensor has to be working or the engine control module won't be happy and so won't close the ASD relay in all likelihood.
Let me know what you find.
Also, did you try switching the ignition key "on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time? Then watch to see the mileage reading disappear and be replace by a 4-digit code preceded by a P. Let me know number which is a fault code.
Sorry for the delay, I thought I sent you this answer earlier but evidently not.
Thanks for the rating and nomination, which you may do again if you so choose.
