QUESTION: i have to replace the brakes on my 2011 van, do i need a special tool to turn the brake pistons in or can i use a c clamp to compress the piston

Hi John,
I have had more time to look into the issue of 'replacing the brakes' which you asked. I assume that you mean replacing the brake pads, correct? If so, after looking over all the CD's that cover the T&C that I have access to, the most practical thing for me to do is to copy pages from the '06 manual as it is infintely more practical than the later versions. It appears to be that the parts are all the same, but that the access to the info is just way too complicated to do the copying.
Let me say too that they all speak of retracting the pistons of the calipers without specifying how! In my experience the most practical way is to have a tool for simultaneously pressing both caliper pistons which is essentially an oblong bar with rounded corners and a socket on the end of the bar to insert a breaker bar. You then simply insert the tool and rotate it to push the pistons apart from one another. A parts store will show you what they have I am sure.
But let me send you the pages because there are two different 'brands' of calipers used so you should have both procedures.
