Chrysler Repair: PT 2.4L: oil pan/structural collar, bell housing, oil pan

Question
QUESTION: On a 06 PT, I need to replace the oil pan, and I read your instructions. I went under, and saw the pan blocked by a piece of alum. on the driver side. Is this the collar you refer to? I took two bolts out and then slid the piece a little - not enought to get clearance for the pan. At that point I replaced everything as I was concerned about messing up. Can you go into detail on removing the collar?
Thanks!

ANSWER: Hi Richard,
The structural collar removal and installation procedure is quite detailed, to the point that it would be better for you to have the actual instructions from the shop manual that I have on a CD. It has text and drawings. I can copy those and email them to you as attachments. In a follow-up question tell me your email address, but don't use the @ symbol, instead use 'at', otherwise the address will be automatically erased. There are separate instructions for the case of an automatic transmission or a stick shift, so tell me which it is that you have.
Please 'rate/nominate' my answer (see the PS below).
Thanks,
Roland

QUESTION: Thanks. We are talking about the OIL pan, not the trans, right? I don't even know if what I am talking about is actually a collar - it lays under the drivers side of the oilpan. I sure appreciate your help!

Answer
Yes, that is correct, between the oil pan and the trans bell housing. I assume this is the automatic transmission, and I will copy and send accordingly. Thanks for the rating and nomination. You can do it again, if you so choose, after you receive the pages by email after lunch.
