Chrysler Repair: 2004 Pacifica Cam bolt removal, bolt removal, cam bolt

Question
Hi Roland,

I am replacing the heads on my 2004 Pacifica. The Cam bolt nearest the firewall is longer than the space between the rear timing cover and the fender. What is the best method for removing the bolt so that I may access the rear timing cover to head bolts behind the cam sprocket?

Thanks!

Answer
Hi Cliff,
Is this the the 3.5L?
Wow, that job on the firewall side head is complicated, involving believe it or not 45 steps!
The 3.8L looks to be less of a hassle, so tell me which you have.
I can copy the pages from the manual which I have on a CD and attach them to an email I will send to you directly. But I need to know your email address which you can tell me in a follow-up question. But don't use the @ symbol, instead use 'at', otherwise the address will be automatically erased. I wish that head replacement job were not so complicated but these pages should show you the way to do it.
Please 'rate' my answer (see PS below).
Thanks,
Roland
