Chrysler Repair: 00 Concorde transmission: code 0750, solenoid pack, transmission control module

Question
My transmission will not shift to the next gear after accelerating up to around 35-40 mph.  I took the car to an AutoZone and had a diagnostic check performed.  I received the codes 700 and 750.  The employee told me it was an internal transmission issue, which would have to be addressed by a transmission specialist.  Can you give me any feedback in regards to my problem.  Thank you     Vincent

Answer
Hi Vincent,
That code is saying that one of the four solenoids that control the 4 clutch elements of the transmission appears to not be responding properly (electrically). That could be due to a wiring issue or an electical grounding issue or a failed transmission control relay any of which would be quick to test. The other and more probable cause is that the solenoid itself is faulty. The solenoid is located in the 'solenoid/pressure switch pack' which is located inside the transmission but which doesn't require the transmission to be removed or rebuilt. Rather one of the pans has to be dropped and the valve body dropped and then the solenoid pack as a whole is typically replaced at a cost of under $500. So I would suggest that you seek an independent transmission shop that has a good record with repairing the Chrysler transmission and let them diagnose for the simple issues and if those are not the cause to give you an estimate for the solenoid pack to be replaced. You might want to get a second bid as well.
The 0700 is a catch all code that just alerts you to the presence of a more specific transmission code to be recorded in the memory of the transmission control module.
