Answer
Hi Bill,
Unfortunately I don't have any manuals for the Jeeps of the 90's and even the code numbers are different apparently from those of Chrysler in that the 12 code does say that the battery was disconnected recently which is true, but the 33 code in Chrsyler is for the ac clutch relay circuit, not the MAP in the Chrysler. Do you hear the fuel pump run for a second when you turn the key to the run position? Do you get spark when cranking it over? How are you getting the codes, by counting the flashes of the check engine light? Is the Jeep 2.5 identical to the Chrysler 2.5 4 cyl engine in the early 90's? If you aren't getting power to the coil hot side when cranking then that can be due to a faulty engine rotational sensor but ideally you would get a code telling you which one it bad. Try jumping 12v to the coil hot post and see if you can either get it to start, or at least put out a spark.
